Welcome to Chicago HandyMan
About us
When you have a home repair, it can really nag at you. Maybe it’s an emergency: a leaking pipe or a broken window. Or maybe it’s something aesthetic, but it bothers you every time you see it, like a light fixture that’s not centered over your dining room table. You can live with it but it’s just not right.
That’s where we can help. I’m Dan, and I’ll help you with emergencies, minor repairs, or even bigger projects or a renovation. My team of handyman technicians can complete most repairs the same day.
We’ll be transparent about your options. If we’re painting your home, we’ll sand all the surfaces first, so that the finished product looks flawless. And we embrace floor repair jobs. Our goal is to restore your flooring at a reasonable cost—not to start by selling you a full floor refinish.
From the owner – About me

I’ve been building since the age of 10: circuit boards, birdhouses, furniture. I come from a family of tinkerers. By day, my grandpa trained doctors on how to use MRI equipment. In his spare time, he encouraged me to build my problem-solving skills by learning from my parents’ remodeling projects and pursuing my own. Like the Pinewood Derby. Getting a block of wood and some wheels, axles, and stickers, I built a miniature car from scratch. Grandpa helped me by imagining car design beyond basic shapes. My car didn’t win any awards, but I loved turning basic supplies into something functional and beautiful.
In my 20s, after a brief corporate gig (which wasn’t for me), I road-tripped to California and put my handyman skills to work for a few years. Coming back to my Midwestern roots, I partnered with a friend to remodel a Chicago loft into an artist space.
I wasn’t sure what to expect, but the inspectors praised our eye for detail and our high-quality work. This was truly my calling. I’ve continued to renovate more commercial property, build homes, service HVAC, build furniture, and repair custom woodwork.
In my spare time, I teach a handyman skills class for Pullman Tech Workshop, a nonprofit that provides workforce training in the historic Pullman neighborhood on Chicago’s Far South Side. By teaching Home repair and remodeling skills, my goal is to help young men develop tangible skills and stand behind their work. Ultimately, I’ll support them in building careers in the historic trades—and their skills will help them support their communities.

When your home is in need of repair, your productivity and quality of life can be hindered. For many the idea of a repair can seem easy, but the tools to make the repair happen can be out of reach. Me and my small team of handyman technicians come with a full array of tools on our truck. We can complete most repairs the same day.
